Fall in Statesboro

By Brandon Robinson

Fall in Statesboro arrives with a rhythm all its own. The days are warm enough to enjoy the outdoors, but the evenings bring people together for festive traditions. A fall in Statesboro blends small-town charm with events that draw crowds from across the region. If you’re looking for a place where Southern hospitality meets fall festivities, Statesboro is the place to be.

Georgia Southern Football Gamedays

Nothing says fall in Statesboro like a Georgia Southern gameday. The buzz of Paulson Stadium combined with the Southern Pride Marching Band make gamedays here unmatched. Tailgating is also a longstanding tradition on campus. Locals come prepared with tents and cornhole boards to create an electric atmosphere that stretches across campus. If you’re not a die-hard football fan, you’ll certainly be one after experiencing a Saturday in Paulson Stadium.

The Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair

Every October, the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair transforms Statesboro into a hub of fun and entertainment. The fairgrounds become filled with funnel cakes and families making memories for life. Rides, such as the Ferris wheel, and agricultural exhibits offer a range of activities for people of all ages. The Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair takes place from October 13 to October 18, 2025, at the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fairgrounds in Statesboro.

Pumpkin Patch at Franklin’s Farm

No fall season feels complete without a trip to a pumpkin patch. Franklin’s Farm delivers this season with rows of bright pumpkins ready to take home. Families explore the farm in search of the perfect pumpkin to carve and display as a decoration. The farm’s setting is rustic and perfect for capturing photo opportunities.

The Haunted Forest

When October rolls in, the Haunted Forest returns to thrill locals and visitors alike. The attraction returns on October 23-25 and October 29-31, 2025, at the Kiwanis fairgrounds in Statesboro. Trails are filled with unexpected frights and costumed actors who know how to keep you on edge. It’s a favorite for teens, college students, and anyone who loves Halloween.

Trick-or-Treat and Trunk-or-Treat Events

Halloween in Statesboro isn’t complete without a few community trunk-or-treats. Each year, organizations host events where kids can dress up, collect candy, and enjoy a safe atmosphere. The Bulloch County Recreation and Parks Department, Statesboro Family YMCA, and Statesboro Police Department are just a few of the groups that organize these community events annually. With numerous options available around town, families are sure to find a spot to celebrate Halloween together.

Statesboro Farmers Market

The Statesboro Main Street Farmers Market is one of the town’s most beloved weekly events, especially in the fall. Each Saturday from 9a-12:30p, shoppers find everything from fresh produce to handmade crafts at the market located behind the Visit Statesboro center. The season runs from April to November, with the highlight being Shopping by Lantern Light at the end of the farmers market season. This final market glows with lights and lanterns, creating an atmosphere that feels both festive and commemorative. Shopping by Lantern Light takes place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
