East Beach

Location: 4202 1st St, St. Simons Island, GA 31522

“East Beach” is the stretch of beach found along the Oceanside of St. Simons Island.

This is a great location for a range of beach activities including beachcombing, extreme kite boarding, biking, sunbathing, strolling, swimming and more.

East Beach is the primary beach, made up of smaller sections of beach that are named after each beach access point:

  • Gould’s Inlet: Located on the northern tip of East Beach, located at the end of Bruce Drive; has very limited parking and not suitable for swimming.
  • U.S. Coast Guard Station Beach: Located south of Gould’s Inlet and the most popular beach location on the island.
  • Massengale Park Beach: Located between Coast Guard Station and the King and Prince Resort. Provides a more secluded beach access point.

Depending on the tide, you can even access the southern point of East Beach at Pier Village. This is a great location to bike and fish at low tide, providing easy access to the village shops and the Neptune Park Fun Zone.

Massengale Park Beach

Massengale Park is a nicely shaded picnic area and playground, located along Ocean Blvd on St. Simons Island. It is also a beach access point to East Beach.

This park offers many oak-shaded picnic tables, four grills, a children’s playground, public restrooms, outdoor showers and two public beach access points to East Beach.
